The Government wants state sector boards to represent the diversity and demographic make-up of New Zealand. This includes ethnicity, gender, age and geographic location.

We maintain a database of qualified people from within our ethnic communities. Where appropriate we recommend these people for State sector boards and committees.

Our ethnic communities include migrants, refugees, long-term settlers, and those born in New Zealand who identify their ethnicity as:

  • African
  • Asian
  • Continental European
  • Latin American
  • Middle Eastern
