Some funding initiatives have been established following the floods in Auckland and cyclone in the North Island.

These include but are not limited to the following.

Community Support Package

The Government announced an $11.5 million Community Support Package to help those affected by the recent North Island floods, including support for regions preparing to respond to Cyclone Gabrielle.

This Community Support Package aims to relieve pressure on community groups and providers so they can continue to deliver response and recovery efforts for people, whānau and communities.

Auckland Back to Work Grants to Support Business Recovery

The Auckland Business Chamber has opened Back to Work grants for applications.

The grants are part of the Government’s $5 million package of emergency support to help Auckland businesses significantly affected by the Auckland Anniversary weekend flooding.

Civil Defence Payments

Civil Defence Payments are available for some people who have been affected by Cyclone Gabrielle or the flooding.

Civil Defence Payments can help cover the costs of:

  • Food
  • Bedding
  • Clothing
  • Accommodation
  • Loss of income
