Ritmo Pilipino Incorporated

Ritmo Pilipino is a non-profit organisation composed of multi-talented individuals dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich tapestry of Filipino heritage through the art of dance. The group’s name translates to “Filipinas expressing strong rhythmic steps through dancing.” They aim to be torchbearers of Filipino cultural pride, showcasing the Philippines’ history, folklore, and multicultural influences through the captivating language of dance. By blending time-honoured traditions with modern interpretations, they strive to bridge generational gaps and foster a sense of unity and appreciation for our cultural roots.

The group actively represents Filipino culture at various multicultural events and was the first Aliwan Festival Champion held at Riverside Market in 2022. Since 2024, they have served as the primary organising team for the Aliwan Festival, which is an annual celebration showcasing the vibrant festivals of the Philippines. In June 2025, the group was honored with the Cultural Group of the Year award in Auckland, recognising their outstanding contribution to cultural diversity and community engagement. Ritmo Pilipino continues to highlight the elegance, refinement, and beauty of Filipino culture.
