Aotearoa Sustainability Group (ASG) a non-profit, with a mission to empower people from the South Asian and new migrant communities in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) to foster waste free sustainable living by valuing and taking care of the natural resources.

We want to connect with our diverse population wherever they are in their journey, to create a better future for themselves and future generations.

Since our inception we have delivered programmes in Auckland to educate ethnic communities in waste minimisation, sustainable living and climate. Our effort is to provide our programmes in linguistically and culturally appropriate manner. This helps in communities to understand the New Zealand ways of living and become active members of the wider society.

We engage with the community via our network of community hubs, participating in festivities like Diwali Mela, Cultural Fest and even via voice media. Our reach has been over 100 thousand plus community members so far. The Zero Waste initiative awards recognised our efforts in their newsletter, and we were the finalist of the Zero Waste Award 2022 for our contribution towards growing the movement.

We would welcome any opportunity to engage and educate any section of ethnic communities in the area of our expertise.
