"It’s been 25 years since Bhartiya Samaj Charitable Trust took its first step towards supporting the diverse communities of Aotearoa, New Zealand. Founded by Mr. Jeet Suchdev QSM JP and Ms. Roopa
Suchdev QSM, Bhartiya Samaj have always had a “community- first approach”. We have been engaged in serving the South Asian diverse community in New Zealand since 1995, constantly working towards
bringing a positive change in the lives of people empowering them to become strong, confident and independent. We passionately work with the communities irrespective of their language, religion,
region, and social status by ensuring they are not left isolated and offering them support, assistance, and solutions to their concerns. This is being achieved by providing services to children, youth, older
people, and migrant families making them socially inclusive and building connected communities.
We cater to the social and developmental needs of the people according to their age and also provide support to people in distress. We also lend a helping hand to the people in distress and address the
problems like isolation and neglect/abuse for the community by providing them with a platform where they can express their concerns freely, feel secure and connected to others, they become
empowered, confident, and self-reliant.
Our primary objective is to bring together people of South Asian origin and promote cultural integration. The variety of services offered are Elderly Support, Distress Support, New Migrant Settlement Support, Skill Development and Enhancement Programs like Digital Inclusion classes, Development Programs, Camps/Holiday Programs and Cultural and Language classes for Children and Youth, Multicultural Playgroup for 0-5 Years and Culturally Appropriate care home for the elderly. In our programs the members get a chance to showcase their skills which makes them realize their hidden potentials and builds confidence.
We always try and live up to the values expressed in our mission statement “Excel in our Service to the Community”.
