About PANZ

Pakistan Association of New Zealand (PANZ), an organisation that has been operating since 1989 under a guiding principle to serve the Pakistani community in New Zealand. PANZ is non-profitable, non-political, nonsectarian community association promoting cultural, educational, charitable purpose and activities.

The current Pakistan Association Of New Zealand (PANZ) General Body was elected in April, 2019. Comprised predominantly of young Pakistanis - Working professionals and Businessman - the long-term goal of this young and dynamic team is to establish an efficient, transparent and accountable system for community service delivery, and in the process, become a model community organization in New Zealand.

Our Recent Work
In recent years PANZ has become one of the prominent nonprofit community associations in New Zealand for promoting diversity, ethnic communities, and multicultural harmony. Our services and efforts are recognised by New Zealand’s public and private sectors. A testament to that in 2019, PANZ received multiple community service awards.

- Disaster Support
• Earthquake reliefs, funding generation for New Zealand, Pakistan and other countries.
• Christchurch quick response. Funds generation, victim and family support.
• Legal & operational support.

- New Zealand Government
• Engagement with various NZ government departments with agility to resolve community issues.
• Provide a single point of contact to local city and regional councils for community related matters.
• Pro-active engagement with police.

- Wider Ethnic Communities
• Collaboration with other ethnic communities and groups to work on national issues.
• Sanjha Punjab.
• Urdu and Punjabi poetry.
• Recent immigration law issues and collaboration with South East Asian communities.
