The Polish Association in Christchurch is an incorporated non-profit organisation that has been founded primarily for the benefit of the Polish community living in the Canterbury area of New Zealand. Our Association is inclusive and membership is open to any person of Polish descent and any other person who supports the objectives and the growth of the Association.

Our ongoing projects include a fortnightly Polish language playgroup, Polish folk dance group Polonus, the maintenance of the Polish language book collection held by the Christchurch City Libraries and representing the Polish community at civic and community events in Christchurch. We organise cultural events and social activities for our members and the wider community with interest in Polish culture and heritage.

The objectives of the Association are:
a) To promote Polish language and culture and spread the knowledge of Poland in New Zealand and the knowledge of New Zealand in Poland,
b) To provide a common platform for Polish local community in the Canterbury area to promote friendship, mutual understanding and support, common interests and activities,
c) To assist integration into the NZ society while maintaining the Polish heritage and passing it onto the new generation,
d) To form and maintain relationships, while representing the Association’s best interests, with other organisations and government bodies in NZ, Poland and other countries.
