The Whau Ethnic Collective (WEC) is a community-driven organisation dedicated to promoting cultural diversity, inclusion, and social cohesion within the Whau Local Board area. WEC works closely with ethnic communities, local leaders, and partner organisations to create opportunities for participation, representation, and engagement across a wide range of social, cultural, and civic activities.
Through community events, workshops, and collaborative projects, WEC celebrates multiculturalism while fostering resilience, understanding, and connection among all residents. The Collective also supports initiatives that address community needs, including civic education, language and learning programs, volunteer recognition, and access to resources.
WEC serves as a bridge between ethnic communities and local decision-makers, ensuring that diverse voices are heard and that the Whau community thrives as an inclusive and vibrant place for everyone.
