Shama is a vibrant social service agency providing support, advocacy, and programmes to empower all ethnic women, their children, and their families across Aotearoa.

We deliver a mix of national and locally based programmes. Our national programmes include cultural safety training, family violence and sexual violence support, and specialist workshops. Our local programmes include English language and conversation classes, digital skills, gardening, cooking, sewing, parenting workshops, school holiday activities, and youth engagement (with specific offerings varying by region).

We also provide one-on-one, culturally responsive support for ethnic people experiencing family violence, sexual violence, or other complex challenges.
