Established in 2006, Pearl of the Islands Foundation (PIF) is a charitable organisation committed to fostering intercultural and interfaith cooperation, acceptance, and dialogue in New Zealand. PIF operates across three key pillars: education, dialogue, and humanitarian aid.
PIF is guided by a voluntary Advisory Board representing multiple ethnicities and faith traditions, including Muslim, Jewish, Christian, and Hindu communities. The organisation is further supported by a voluntary committee of seven members. Day-to-day operations are managed by a team of six employees, with the assistance of dedicated community volunteers who support intercultural and interfaith events, projects, and fundraising activities.
Little Pearls Educare Centres, located in Mt Roskill and Mt Albert, operate under the Foundation and provide early childhood education to the community.
Art Masterclass New Zealand serves as the creative arm of PIF. Since its establishment in 2023, it has engaged and served over 6,000 participants through creative Turkish lamp-making workshops, promoting cultural appreciation and creative expression.
The newly initiated Elevate, Youth & Community Centre in Avondale focuses on youth and community wellbeing, providing a supportive space for engagement, development, and connection.
