The Multicultural Council of Wellington (MCW), formerly known as the Ethnic Council of Wellington, plays a vital role in fostering New Zealand's multicultural harmony and social cohesion. As a not-for-profit membership-based organization and an affiliate of the national body, MCW unites over 30 diverse ethnic communities in the Wellington region. Through cultural, social, and sporting initiatives, it actively promotes cross-cultural understanding, celebrates diversity, and strengthens community bonds. By providing a platform for different ethnic groups to connect and collaborate, MCW contributes significantly to New Zealand's identity as an inclusive and multicultural society. Its efforts not only enrich the cultural landscape of Wellington but also serve as a model for intercultural dialogue and unity across the country.
