The Office of Ethnic Communities hosted an Ethnic Youth Hui in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland on 8 June. In line with our theme "He Waka Eke Noa. We're Stronger Together", the hui presented an opportunity for OEC to connect and engage with our ethnic youth, a space for networking, and a platform for people to share their stories of impact.

Through their presentations, ethnic rangatahi showcased how they collaborate, flourish, and make this country a better place. Approximately 40 people attended, representing all our mandated ethnic communities.

Participants enjoyed being at a hui designated for ethnic youth, the inclusive and safe space, and the opportunity to hear about the journey of their peers.

We thank all the participants for sharing their mahi, and for working to reinforce social cohesion in Aotearoa New Zealand.
